Newsletter Issue 61

Welcome to our October 2026 newsletter.

The excitement surrounding artificial intelligence and technology continues to capture market attention. In this environment, it can be tempting to follow the latest investment trends, but history reminds us that today’s popularity does not necessarily mean tomorrow’s best investment opportunity.

In our first article, “Now Is Not the Time to Have FOMO,” we explore why our investment managers resist the temptation to chase the excitement around artificial intelligence and technology stocks. Instead, they are focusing on high-quality businesses trading at attractive valuations. We explain why this disciplined approach requires patience and why maintaining conviction in a sound investment process remains essential to long-term wealth creation.

Our second article turns to estate planning and highlights how even the most well-intentioned decisions can have unintended consequences. Leaving a special bequest to a grandchild, family member or friend may seem straightforward, but without careful planning, these gifts can significantly reduce what ultimately passes to a spouse or children. We explain why the wording of your Will, the liquidity of your estate and regular reviews are essential to ensuring that your wishes are carried out as intended.

Both articles demonstrate that good outcomes depend on looking beyond the obvious and understanding the longer-term consequences of today’s decisions. Whether managing investments or planning your estate, thoughtful decisions and careful planning can make all the difference.

As always, our team is available to discuss how these matters may affect your investment strategy and estate planning.
